Weather Station Information

Weather Information is collected with a Davis Vantage Pro2 24HR FARS Wireless Weather station. The station is mounted in separate locations at our family business, with the main ISS sitting at 8' above the grassy ground, and the anemometer sitting at 33' above the ground atop our warehouse building. I use a WeatherLink Live to collect data as well as 1 console. My CWOP page will be updated once every 5 minutes, and my Weather Underground page will be updated once every 5 minutes. Data will be uploaded from my WeatherLink page to the home page on this site once every minute from the WeatherLink Live system. My home weather stations call-sign on Weather Underground is KMEMANCH14, while my weather station down the road at works call sign on Weather Underground is KMEMANCH12. This stations is the one I use to display data on this website, due to its sensors being mounted in more suitable locations for more accurate data. I upload my data to the Citizens Weather Observer Program (CWOP) who then sends the data to the National Weather Service, and two local weather stations (WMTW-8 and WGME-13). In addition I report precipitation totals for my area daily with the callsign ME-KB-55 on CoCoRAHS.
I also maintain a Davis Vantage Pro2 station assembly at my house. The callsign for this stations data on Weather Underground is KMEMANCH14. This station is mounted atop a tripod with the main ISS ata 7' above the grassy ground, while the anemometer is mounted at the top of the mast at about 15' above the ground. Data from this station is uploaded via a WeatherLink Live unit to the WeatherLink network once every minute, and from there to Weather Underground once every 15 minutes.

Station Location: We are located at an elevation of 236 feet above sea level just west of the capital city of Maine (Augusta), in the western portion of Kennebec County here in the central part of the state. This location is situated close to the transitional zone between the coastal plain and the foothills of western Maine. Some of the states most scenic mountains are found just 1 to 2 hours west of this region, in the Mahoosuc Range, a range which includes Sunday River Resort, and which also includes Maine's third tallest mountain, Old Speck, at 4,187 feet peak elevation. That area is known as Grafton Notch State Park. Another state park with similar qualities, Evans Notch State Park, is also only about 90 minutes to our WSW. One of the closest state parks to us is the Androscoggin Riverlands State Park, located in Turner Center along the Androscoggin River, about a 30 minute drive to our Southwest from this location.

My live streaming webcam on the homepage of this website is a Reolink RLC-410W 4.0MP IP webcam. The camera I use for my snow depth camera uploads images to Webcam.io once every 5 minutes, and then I embed that image onto this site. That camera is also a Reolink RLC-410W 4.0MP IP webcam.
